Let's Meet Kristina who is working up to doing more competitive cycling.
Kristina works as a mental health therapist and also does art therapy.
1. What type of rider are you?
I would consider myself a recreational cyclist, although I am looking to get into more consistent and structured training. I am working up to doing more competitive cycling. I enjoy rides where I get to challenge my endurance and be speedy. In 2018 I completed a bike ride across the United States from east to west coast.
2. When did you start riding a bicycle? Why do you like it so much?
I started riding a bicycle about ten years ago when my parents gave me a hand-me-down bike. I would go on leisurely rides around my neighborhood and began pushing myself to increase distance or speed. I find that riding bikes is a very mindful experience that helps me stay in tune with myself and enjoy the outdoors.
3. Any other riding route would you recommend around Oklahoma?
I would recommend checking out the red dirt roads in Stillwater, Oklahoma and the rolling hills in the Wichita Mountain National Wildlife Refuge. Both destinations have scenic rides and many challenging routes.
