This time, we come to the western Sichuan which consists of numerous mountain ranges forming the easternmost part of the Tibetan Plateau. One of these ranges, the Daxue Mountains, contains the highest point of the province Gongga Shan, at 7,556 m (24,790 ft) above sea level.
